A-lines

Horizontal, evenly spaced lines seen below the pleural line on lung ultrasound, produced by reverberation at the pleural surface.

Found
Seen on lung ultrasound as horizontal lines that repeat below the pleural line at regular intervals.
Normal
The normal air-filled lung, where the lines are evenly spaced and the pleura slides beneath them.
Abnormal
The same horizontal pattern with lung sliding absent.
Suggests
Normal lung aeration, or pneumothorax when lung sliding is also lost.
